To Kill Or Not to Kill : Jason Rainville Artwork

Jason Rainville blew me away with Qwayneel,
a verrik greenbond who suffers more than others of her race from
the Curse of Xyphon which plagues all verrik.
She also plays a major part in both this adventure and adventure #4 of
The Rituals of Choice:  Ceremonies of Sacrifice,  I am overjoyed with how this turned out.

Fantastic Maps: The Ice Temple

Jonathan Roberts cartographer, for Wrath of the River King and Adventures in the Hyborian Age, presents:

The Ice Temple

This multi-page PDF allows you to print out the battlemap at a 1 inch=1 square scale as a letter-format map and is also available in a printer-friendly light grayscale version.

A dragon hangs in the frozen waterfall, trapped by ancient ritual. As long as the sacrifices are made every Midwinter's Eve the dragon will remain at bay, like an axe poised over the kingdom ensuring unwavering loyalty to the priests of the God of Winter. Can a hero save the maiden from her fate, escape the crumbling temple of ice and defeat the dragon as it is freed from its centuries long imprisonment?

AE Essentials: Van Richten’s Guide to the Shadow Fey

Van Richten’s Guide to the Shadow Fey is a wonderful book if you plan on doing something ranges into the Harrowdeep, In my own game it took the fey to the level of the Big Bad.  It has a wonderful Fey creature template that can help  you adapt monsters that are not normally part of the tropes of AE, and the changeling template lets you cause fundamental harm to the loved ones of the party and makes it so that you cannot just kill the fey, you need them to put your loved one back the way their were before the Shadow Fey gifted them with immortality and the loss of their soul.

The Horror aspect of Ravenloft translates very well to the nature of the dark woods of the Harrowdeep, this book is very well written and can be quite haunting but I have always loved a good gothic horror story.

Be on the lookout for this in the used Rpg books or pick ite up as a PDF Here

Why not Steven D. Russell Games?

It's a common tendency for a business to be named after the original founder (Me Inc). You’re basically branding your name, but the problem with a brand built around an individual rather than a company is that people start looking at you, rather than your products.

I want people to find the same value they do in Soren K. Thustrup’s The Living Airship (ENnie nominated author that he is), Frank Carr’s Jade Oath, as well as the books I personally design.

Also I have a huge ego, you need one to be able to take the criticism you do as a small Pdf publisher and designer, but I also have to be able to keep it in check so that I can recognize an idea that is just as valid as or better than my own. Making it about the company and all the folks who make these books happen (the editors, the artists, the proofreaders, the graphic designer, our forum administrator, etc.),

In Addition I tend to think long term, I want Rite Publishing to keep going doing what it is doing long after I am gone, I will one day want a successor. It won’t be a relative because nepotism is stupid. And heaven forbid I ever decide to sell this company (Paizo you want me as an imprint right?); a brand built around a single individual is less attractive to a perspective buyer than a brand built on a company.

 So why Rite Publishing?

 Well RitePress.com was taken J

 As to the Rite:

One: I always want to do the right thing as a business; I will shut it all down before I do something evil.

Two: Rituals, Ceremonies and Rites a huge trope for fantasy gaming, especially with our focus on Monte Cook’s Arcana Evolved.
